I have actually started from scratch twice over so there are 2 very distinct parts to my journey.

Part 1 – I bought my first home at aged 18 with a very creative deal buying the house that I grew up in off my parents. I then read a book by Jan Somers called “Building Wealth though investment property” which set me on a journey of Buy & Hold properties with me buying my first investment property at age 21, which in turn helped me to own my home outright at age 24, and several more properties after this.

The buy and hold phase did work, but like many I found a glass ceiling in my borrowing capacity due to negative gearing impacting upon my serviceability and so I was forced to just sit there and wait for the market do the heavy lifting for me.

Part 2 – After losing much of my wealth at age 38 when I got divorced I lost my way for a while. After some strong personal reflection I regained my inspiration after reading 2 other books “Rich Dad Poor Dad” by Robert Kiyosaki, and “Think & Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. At this stage I decided that I didn’t want to wait another 20 years to build my wealth again through passive buy and hold with no control over the outcome and build a business out of Property. So I set about to build on what I already knew and learning how to do Property Development so that I could force value onto the property in ANY market, up, down, or sideways.

Now financially free, and having learned from several mentors, life coaches and industry peers along the way, it is now my time to give back and teach others what I have learnt along the way.
